This stunning art print set in the Scottish Highlands features a male Red Deer Stag barking his victory call as he defeats a rival stag during the autumnal rutting season.

Testosterone flying high the Stag depicted here is probably a mature stag. Although they reach sexual maturity when they are two years old, its more likely they are at least five before they get the chance to mate successfully. He will then win the rights to mate with all the Hinds in his Harem, the hind then will give birth after an eight month gestation period to a single calf.
